RAMAEPC Savior is Freeware. That means that you can distribute it, give it
away, and otherwise exploit my work without giving me anything in return.
However, I do ask that you always include this document file (unmodified), and
that you don't modify the program itself. Share and enjoy!

-----------------------
What is RAMAEPC Savior?
-----------------------
The Applied Engineering PC Transporter board has up to 768K of memory on it.
When using ProDOS or GS/OS, this memory can be used as a RAM disk, called
RAMAEPC. However, the files on this disk are lost when you use MS-DOS, which
can be annoying if you forget to back up important files from that disk before
starting MS-DOS. RAMAEPC Savior corrects this problem.

A new feature is compatibility with the Launcher program included with the PC
Transporter system. If you use Launcher, run the AEPC.Patcher program included
with RAMAEPC Savior. This program patches the STARTAEPC program, which is used
by the PC.LAUNCHER program to generate the system files used by Launcher, so
that they will route through RAMAEPC Savior.

The current version of RAMAEPC Savior (version 1.2) will run on any Apple II
computer.

-------------------------
Installing RAMAEPC Savior
-------------------------
To install RAMAEPC Savior, just place a copy of the program BootMSDOS into the
same directory that contains your PC Transporter files, including AEPC.SYSTEM.

If you use Launcher, be sure to run the included AEPC.Patcher program. You'll
also need to re-build all your launcher programs using Applied Engineering's
PC.LAUNCHER program.

--------------------
Using RAMAEPC Savior
--------------------

To start MS-DOS, launch the RAMAEPC Savior program (called BootMSDOS), or use
any programs created by Launcher. If there are files on RAMAEPC, a message will
appear telling you so, and will give you a chance to quit back to your launcher
program.

RAMAEPC Savior will only work if RAMAEPC is formatted with the ProDOS file
system; if it is not a ProDOS disk, MS-DOS will start normally, but files on
RAMAEPC will be lost. Also, if the PC Transporter RAM disk is not named
RAMAEPC, RAMAEPC Savior will not be able to find it.
